Daily life at Integrity Healthcare of Cobden is filled with games, movies, special foods and treats, outings and visits from community partners.   We know how important it is to keep our residents busy and engaged.  All the staff work together as a team to accomplish these goals.  Many employees join together to host parties and holiday celebrations.  We are located in an agricultural region of Illinois, so we are blessed with orchards and growers.  We make sure that our residents celebrate the seasons with local fruits.  When the weather is fair, we take small and larger groups on outings so they can enjoy farms, parks and special places for refreshments!  When it is time for the county fair, we celebrate the fair in our facility.  When it is strawberry season, we have strawberries.  When autumn arrives, we take nature hikes and collect leaves.

Every holiday is a time for a special event at Integrity Healthcare of Cobden, but it doesn’t require a holiday to host an event!  A day was recently dedicated to making lemon shake-ups for the residents.  When the decorations come out, the residents know something special is about to happen.  What a beautiful setting for a special treat.

It is vitally important to engage the residents in our facility in as much activity as possible.  We do our best to keep them involved in trivia games and history quizzes that keep their minds focused on remembering, as well as, learning new things.

The people who work at Integrity Healthcare of Cobden are very special because they take care of very special residents.  Recently, staff have hosted more than one party to entertain our residents.  Celebrating is important.

There are several pets that visit the facility frequently.  Meet Rex, the lizard; Valentine, the goat; and Gus, the very popular Basset Hound.  Staff created a “happy place” for residents to join the pet of the choice.  They were able to pet them and cuddle with the.  Yes, even the lizard likes to be loved!

Is there something fishy about this trophy wining fish?  The gentlemen at Integrity Healthcare of Cobden enjoy their fishing trips, and they enjoy having lots of fun at the lake!  The fish were biting on this sunshiny day and the joke was on us!
